Summer National Results!!!
Our group of talented, hard-working fencers attended the USFA’s Summer National Championships held in Atlanta, Georgia this year and came out with impressive results all around! Despite the heat and some first-time attendees, Swords Fencing Studio was more than well represented!
In Y-10 for Men’s Epee, Stephen Ewart placed an impressive 10th place for his first major tournament and first Summer Nationals. Amazing job Stephen! Keep up the good work and we know you’ll only continue to do well in the future!
In Y-12 Women’s Epee, Madeline Kehl, a first time Summer National attendee, took the Gold medal in this event out of 81 fencers! Great Job, Madeline! She has been working hard and competed in three other events which yielded amazing results as well.
In Y-14 Women’s Epee, Madeline Kehl, again, took 9th place out of 119 fencers earning National points with her incredible result! Keep up the good work, Madeline!
In Cadet Men’s Epee, Raymond Schorr took the Bronze medal out of 148 fencers with his best result yet in the Cadet division. He has earned Cadet National points and we wish him the best of luck as he trains hard and continues to compete both nationally and internationally!
In Cadet Women’s Epee, Madeline Kehl placed an impressive 15th out of 102 fencers and earned both Cadet and Y-14 National points for her efforts! This promising fencer has been fencing for a little over a year and half and continues to exceed all expectations! Keep working hard, Madeline!
In Junior Men’s Epee, Joey Rafidi placed 14th and Raymond Schorr placed 12th out of 134 fencers for Junior National Points! Great job you guys! They fenced hard and their fencing ability truly shined at this event.
In Junior Women’s Epee, once again Madeline Kehl, our little eager 13 year old fencer, placed an impressive and consistent 18th out of 107 fencers earning Y-14, Cadet, and Junior National points! Amazing job for her first Summer Nationals!
All of this would not be possible without each and every fencers’ hard work and dedication to the sport and to their great coach, Tigran Shaginian! Keep up the amazing work you guys and let’s keep striving for the top! A honorable mention is made to Trevor Shepard, Belinda Mo, Caitlyn Witucki, and Preston Maestri-Petnunas for their great effort at this Summer Nationals! You guys tried your best and fought hard. We know that with your spirit and talent you all will soon be posting incredible results as well! Keep on trying!
